Welcome to the website for British soprano Kirsty Hopkins.  

After a music degree at Manchester University, Kirsty trained at Trinity College of Music where she won the Elizabeth Schumann Lieder Prize.

Roles include Galatea in Handel's Acis & Galatea for JEMW, Cupid in Purcell's King Arthur for New Chamber Opera, Dido in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas for MUSO and Spirit in the same opera for Harry Christophers.

Recent concert performances include Bach's Magnificat, Purcell's Ode on St Cecilia’s Day, Bach's Wachet Auf, Mozart's Coronation Mass, Bach's St John Passion and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. For a full biography please click here.

This year Kirsty has performed Allegri's Miserere in cathedrals throughout Britain for Harry Christophers and The Sixteen on their Choral Pilgrimage.



In December 2007, Kirsty will be performing the role of Asphodèle, in Chabrier's L'Etoile at L'Opéra Comique in Paris for Sir John Eliot Gardiner. For tickets please go to www.opera-comique.com.  There will also be two performances with conductor François-Xavier Roth in Nimes in January 2008.
